Horse Riding:

Lungau offers a fully developed public bridleway network of approx. 100 km, which has been signposted and depicted on a detailed map since August. Lungau offers ideal conditions for horseback riding with its dry and sunny climate. Riding is possible throughout the year with limitations only during spring thaw.

Bridleway to Moosham: From the airfield Mauterndorf heading towards Neuseß – Moos, past Neuseß heading towards Moosham Castle, following the route to Stranach, St. Michael or towards Unternberg.

Bridleway to Tweng: Starting point is below the Castle Mauterndorf. The path leads across pastures to the Ski Centre and on to Tweng. Then follow the loop to ride back.

Nordic Walking:

1. Begöriach Loop Trail
Starting point is the information office Mauterndorf – St. Wolfgang church – heading towards Begöriach. At the chapel Begöriach continue in direction of Mauterndorf across the Bachergut (alternatively you can take the Götzweg to get to the Ski Centre) – or back to the Information Office.

2. Hammerrunde
Ausgangspunkt ist beim Infobüro Mauterndorf - unter der Burg geht es zum Hammer - Richtung Schizentrum

3. Steindorf Loop Trail
Starting point is the Information Office Mauterndorf – Castle Mauterndorf – across Stampfl, St. Gertrauden to Steindorf, then to the gliding airfield across Steindorf Moos, and onwards to the village centre of Mauterndorf.

4. Trog Alm Loop Trail
Starting Point is the peak station Mauterndorf – on to Trogalm Lake – to Peterbauerkreuz, down to the Trogalm hut, back to the Trogalm lake and to the
